Art Vase Slip 'Titania' Series (VI)
‘Titania’ art vase slip in shades of green, and orange with occasional blushes of pink and sky blue. Two different sides offer two different colour ways for your blooms.
A design originally created for the Victoria and Albert Museum, these rather joyful vase slips feature original artwork and each one is unique. You can see the original ‘giant’ vase made for the V&A in the images - it was created to stand in front of the Georgian Stoke Edith Tapestry in the British Galleries and was inspired by Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, hence the title ‘Titania’. These vases are all decorated with the repeat designs exhibited and you can see how these were also turned into giant floral lighting, dripping with words from Shakespeare’s prose - a magical sight!
You slip your art vase them an otherwise discarded vessel such as a jam jar or water bottle and your waste pots become decadent and eye-catching vases for your favourite blooms. The height is approx 29cm and is designed to fit over a 50cl plastic bottle but you may well find other jars etc in your recycling that would fit nicely.
Vases are painted in acrylics and mixed media on heavy canvas. Whenever I present these at shows they are absolutely the bestsellers with customers buying multiples for gifts, and others sending their friends in to buy them - they won’t hang around for long. Each one is completely unique - a 3D painting.
The vases arrive flat and come with a card that explains how to use them so they make gorgeous gifts.
See video below showing how the vase slip can be used.
