You’ll look at the work of other artists to inform your own practice and work mainly from seasonal, natural source material. Sessions focus on building skills in observation, composition, form, tone, line, texture and pattern, while encouraging expressive, painterly outcomes.
Lucy specialises in teaching clear processes and practical techniques that help you create well-observed yet expressive artwork. Every session includes demonstrations, introducing new ways of seeing and new approaches to recording what you observe. You’ll leave each class with fresh ideas and a growing “bank” of techniques to develop your practice further.

Reviews:
Course Participant D Stratford
What an enjoyable day with Lucy Perry at the Artful Floral workshop. We spent the day being guided on how to use water based media. I find Lucy an inspirational and generous teacher, she is always positive and seems to know just what you need to hear to spur you on or make you think about the process that is being covered. It is a great journey of self discovery. The day passed so quickly, it was great fun. The set up for the day was done really well, lots of art materials supplied with the tea, coffee, treats and a delicious lunch, which all flowed effortlessly – but we all appreciate the work that goes into producing a day like that!
I went home inspired by what I had done and also what others had done, the group of us worked easily together which marks the mastery of Lucy’s teaching skills.
I find I broaden my artistic skill and my confidence grows, whenever I do a course with Lucy.
Course Participant L Redman:
“The Fullers Mill Garden workshop was casual and fun with Lucy giving gentle encouragement and advice on how to achieve the plant forms we were trying to capture. We could play with various mediums and I loved the peaceful birdsong filled garden setting. A joyous day.”

Course Participant L Collins:
“Lucy was extremely thorough in her explanations of the processes involved with creating mono prints. She allowed each course member to work at their own space and develop their work based on their own theme.
Her studio is well equipped and Lucy is very organised, making it an enjoyable experience.
I will definitely be booking on more of Lucy's courses. ”
Course Partcipant J Dufy:
“I would just like to say how much I enjoyed the three courses I came to with you. They were very inspiring. Everyone on the courses was very good company and though these techniques were new to me, you taught very well indeed and I look forward to coming again and improving. Thank you very much again.”
