Shall we flourish together in 2026?

As a new year opens, I’ve been thinking about a word of the year - I prefer a word, as an invitation, rather than resolutions I know I won’t fulfil!

My word for the year ahead is flourish.

For me, flourish speaks of nature’s quiet resilience: growth that responds to conditions, adapts, rests, and bursts into life when the time is right. It keeps in mind curiosity, sustainability, and hope; making work that feels connected, alive, and true.

This sense of flourishing sits at the heart of my drawing and painting workshops. Together we explore expressive and creative approaches that build skills and confidence in fresh ways of seeing and recording. We make lively, painterly studies, enjoy the materiality of our media, and rediscover the physical pleasure of mark-making — a grounding, human connection to the world in an age so dominated by screens.

If you’re longing to slow down, look more deeply, and develop your practice in a friendly, exploratory environment, I’d love you to join me this year. Let’s take inspiration from the natural world, trust the process, and allow our work, and ourselves, to flourish. #artworkshop #lucyperryart #artfulmind #flourish #expressivedrawing.

Currently I am offering weekly drawing sessions in Bungay - and opportunity to be part of the Artful Drawing club - friendly and joy filled creative drawing sessions using a variety of media and natural forms to inspire us. We look at the work of other artists, chat lots and enjoy biscuits, too!
